It brings me much sadness to announce our long running show has come to a close. I personally wish to thank the entire 4zzzfm family for their support and every beautiful guest we interviewed over the years. so tune in today from 1-2pm for my retrospective of my favourite times and interviews on the show, including playing some of my favourite tunes which regular listeners would know I love.

This award winning program At the Local aimed to develop a more focused presentation of local issues, programs and community groups, much of which passes under scope of regular news reporting.
We placed emphasis on community groups sharing their knowledge and experience with Brisbane listeners through the voices of their volunteers and service users.

Micah Projects is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing support and advocacy services to individuals and families experiencing adversity due to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence, disability, and discrimination due to age, gender or sexual orientation.

The Hope Street Cafés are not-for-profit social enterprises creating opportunities for locals to Eat & Drink, Connect & Create! 

We work with TAFE Brisbane and local cafes and restaurants to provide qualified hospitality training and supported employment pathways.

Boudicca: The Celtic Rock Opera is an epic tale of rebellion and revenge set in 60AD, a time when Celtic tribes and Britons were mercilessly ruled by Nero, the insane Roman Emperor.

Macbeth: The Contemporary Rock Opera re-envisions Shakespeare’s tale of treachery, incorporating shades of punk rebellion with a choral rock opera score. 

Macbeth and Boudicca is being presented by Dianne Gough Productions, the same team which claimed the Cremorne Theatre’s box office records in 2006 and 2009 with their rock opera version of Macbeth. 

Brisbane’s own rock royalty and Women in Voice favourite, Alison St Ledger, unleashes a tour de force performance as Boadicea and Lady Macbeth

Matt Newnham is a popular performer on the Brisbane music and theatre scene. He has starred in many Dianne Gough Productions including Boudicca, Brave New World Order, Merchant of Vengence: A Cabaret Against Terrorism. 

At Hope St Cafe he reprises his roles as the treacherous Scottish Thane Macbeth and the ruthless Roman General Seutonius Paulinus.

Anywhere Theatre Festival Limited is a Brisbane based not-for-profit company with a vision to propel a world-wide trend for exciting, engaging, passionate performance regardless of access to traditional theatre infrastructure. 

Story telling began as something we did around camp fires and over time it has been ghettoed inside traditional theatre venues and the structures that go with them.

The festival believes that for our stories and performance to survive we have to stop creating theatres where people “go” for live performance. Storytelling and performance needs to happen anywhere. People need to see performance, to see theatre and engage in theatre anywhere regardless of their income or location.

This festival provides oppotunities for a wide range of local story tellers and artists a space to share their unique stories.

Forget the onesided soapboxes, this is gritty content shared consensually to willing participants. Deal or Ordeal is engaging in the conversation for the ones that need it most – all of us. Battling a world designed to drown out your yes’s and no’s we encourage you to bare it all (including your nipples) in a no-holds-barred Highgate Hill basement.

Space for Cycling Brisbane are organising a ride "The big push for safe streets" asking for safe streets for people on bikes. Vena Cava presents their first Mainstage production of 2017, 4.48 Psychosis written by Sarah Kane and directed by Daniel Gough. 

This cutting-edge interpretation of Kane’s work promises to be a stark and engaging analysis of themes relating to mental health and suicide, incorporating elements of post-modern theatre.

A uniquely powerful piece, this production enters unprecedented territory for the company and promises to be a completely honest and genuine exploration of a topic forced into taboo for far too long.

Constance on the Edge is a heart-warming and honest portrayal of one refugee family's resettlement story in Australia. Filmed over ten years, it tells the story of Constance, mother of six, who risks everything in Australia so her family can thrive as she confronts her painful past in Sudan.
