The Bastard Theatre began as a series of sporadic live experimental programs in mid 2010 around Brisbane. In early 2012 it incarnated as a radio show with Glen Schenau and Andrew McLellan, playing tribute to the diversity of underground, heated music making in Australia past and old.

In 2013 the initative resumed its live endeavours, hosting various parties with ever more insistence on the dancefloor (however strange or inaccessible the music may or may not be).

The Bastard Theatre has hosted (live or in studio or via a special .mp3) SAMUEL KERRDIGE (Downwards/Berlin), MAREENA (Tresor/Berlin), XHIN (Singapore), HEATSICK (UK/Berlin), Awesome Tapes From Africa, TransComm's Dennis Remmer, Four Door (Melbourne), Native Cats (Hobart), Fatti Frances (Melbourne), Austin Buckett (Sydney), Tlatlon (Melbourne), Kana Broadcasting's Elliot Clarke and Fuzion (Brisbane), Nathan Gray, Sam Karmal, Thomas William, Samuel Miers (School Girl Report), High Beams, Dust Storm Jogger, Green Nose, Muura, Shaun South (Nhilistic Orbs) amongst many others.
