QUEERIE: What have you found "hard to swallow" recently?

Honestly! Where do you begin with that question? We're indebted to Reuben Kaye (pictured) for this week's QUEERIE, as his Brisbane Comedy Festival show "Hard To Swallow" opens on Friday May 8 and plays until Sunday May 10. Blair had a rollicking fun chat with him, which you can hear in our second hour tonight.

Before that, Jodie Hall of Trans Justice Meanjin is back with news of a special screening of the film Jimpa (which stars OSCAR winner Olivia Coleman) next Wednesday May 13, with a special live video Q&A with members of the cast and creative team following the screening - not to be missed!

The next alt. queer performance event is tomorrow, May 7 at The Brightside and is titled alt.ANARCHY - and the team welcome Mara Maraschino to the show for all the tea (and details)

QUEERIE: What are you planning on doing this autumn?

Humidity starts to dip, the sun isn't quite overhead, the days shorten, the nights are more "pleasant" and it's a good time to get around without getting sticky and damp like an overused dish cloth. Plenty to do in the coming weeks, queers and mates, as the autumnal equinox arrives this Saturday.

Plenty to be getting on with though! Brody spoke with Petria from Rainbow Families who have Family Pride this Saturday March 21 at Victoria Point

Blair conversed au Anglais (mostly) with Jean-Philippe Bottin of Alliance Français about this year's AF French Film Festival and the special Pride Night next Thursday, March 26 with a screening of Enzo

And to round up the "what's going ons" this weekend, Friday night at PFR Lounge Warrane/Sydney"loudsters" Second Idol are playing with a bunch of local talent, and Blair did a deep dive yarn with Kate Farquharson of the band.
